The Lincoln park zoo is free to Chicago and rehabs sick & injured animals. They have flamingos, rhinos, giraffes, an aardvark, otters, various monkeys, you name it. I'll soon upload the photos I was able to shoot of their baby chimps that were relaxing when we were there. The Lincoln park zoo is a Chicago favorite. Great landscape in the summer & fall.
Don't forget for those able they do accept donations, hence their free admission. So perhaps pack a lunch and give that extra cash to the animals and caretakers that make this zoo accessible to all of the public. And for those who work hard to keep it clean, friendly and a place for animals in need. The more support the better it can be in the future as well.
